The Alan Blumlein Building at RAF Defford wasnamed in honor of Alan Dower Blumlein, who worked on radar development there during World War II.The building was officially named by Princess Anne on 7 April 2008. RAF Defford was a crucial site for the development of H2S airborne radar, a technology that played a significant role in the Allied victory.
